How does it work ?
It's very simple, you just need to have a Twitter account and a 3G mobile phone. If you don't have a Twitter account, you can create one for free on Twitter.com.
Once you are registered on iVideotweet.com, you can videotweet in 4 steps :
- Step 1 : make a videocall to +33 1 53 55 22 14
- Step 2 : click 1 to start shooting a life scene
- Step 3 : click 2 to stop shooting
- Step 4 : click 3 to tweet the scene to your twitter account
When you hang up, your videotweet is already online !
If you have an iPhone 3GS, once the free iVideotweet application is downloaded and configured with your email address and your 6 digits password received by SMS, simply click on the start button to launch the video recorder. Once you have finished recording your video, click on the 'Use' blue button and the iVideotweet application will upload your video and tweet a link on your twitter account.
iPhones don't support video calls : how can I videotweet with my iPhone?
As iPhones don't support video calls, iVideotweet provides an application for the iPhone 3GS to videotweet. Download the iPhone application from the Apple App Store, and enter your email and the 6 digits password received by SMS in the settings page of the iVideotweet iPhone application. If you have any issue, make sure you have followed the special instructions for iPhone users at : http://www.ivideotweet.com/iphone_support.
The iVideotweet application for iPhone will only work on iPhone 3GS. Previous versions of the iPhone do not support video recording.
Which mobile phones are compatible ?
Most 3G mobile phones support video calling. Right now, Blackberry and iPhone do not support video calling. For the iPhone 3GS iVideotweet provides an application free of charge to videotweet using iVideotweet service.
All other manufacturers including LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, HTC, Motorola, Sagem do support video calling.
Trick to check that your mobile phone supports video calls
There is a simple way to check that you can make video calls with your mobile phone.
Your phone must have 2 cameras, one on the front and one on the back.

I don't succeed videotweeting, why ?
This might be for one of the following reasons :
- you are not covered by the 3G network : to use iVideotweet, you must have a 3G connection.
- you make an audio call instead of a video call :
- to make a video call, you can refer to your mobile phone's user manual
- usually, once you have typed the digits of the phone number to call, you check in the menu on the left or on the right for the term "video call"
- you have done a video call, you see the user interface, you have followed all instructions but your video does not appear on your Twitter account : in this case, please send us an email at support@ivideotweet.com or a message on our dedicated tweet : faq_ivideotweet
- to make a video call, you can refer to your mobile phone's user manual
- usually, once you have typed the digits of the phone number to call, you check in the menu on the left or on the right for the term "video call"
How to make a good quality video ?
The less you move your phone, the better quality will be the video. You should try to make several fixed sequences, each one being at minimum a 5 seconds sequence.
Your videotweets will look much better, and your followers will appreciate it !
How much does a video call cost ?
Usually, a video call costs the same price as a standard audio call. To make sure, please check with the customer service of your mobile operator.
